Bexley Deaf Club, formed in 1991, by Bexley Deaf Centre (Mrs Voce and Mr Gibbons). It was originally called Bexley Young Deaf Club and was based at Bexley Deaf Centre at Vicarage Road in Old Bexley. Its aim was to promote young Deaf people who live in Bexley area to come along and join the club.
1993 - Crayford Day Centre at Crayford
In 1993 the club at Bexley Deaf Centre was expanding with a large number of young Deaf people using the club, the hall that they were using was too small for their needs. However, the club moved to a reasonable size building to use for social activities at Crayford Day Centre in Crayford meeting every other Friday evening. The membership continued to increase as more Deaf people to join the club. The committee decided that it needed to provide a better place where more Deaf people of all ages could meet.
